Travel Innovator Review – Movitas

Chuck Sacco from MovitasMovitas develops guest operating system technologies that allow hotels and resorts to communicate with guest through on property mobile. Movitas empowers the hotel to be able to maintain a connection with their guests before, during, and after their visit to the property.

The core is a guest communication portal that connects the user through the hotel’s existing infrastructure. The Movitas platform acts as a remote control for the guest’s hotel experience. The portal gives guests a quick dial to hotel services such as front-desk, room service, and housekeeping.

The monetization scheme is built around providing relevant on-property advertising and pushing additional services that the guest may not have considered. Hotels become tourism hubs that can provide access to local services through their mobile channel.

But where do you draw the line between promotion and spam on a mobile device? Sacco says that guests will have the ability to completely control their preferences for the specific property that they are visiting.

T4 Review: I like the software as a service model that Movitas is promoting as well as the web app approach (as opposed to creating stand-a-lone apps on multiple platforms).  The platform allows small businesses to use the platform as a content management and mobile promotion platform for their guests.
