Travel Innovator Review – Amadeus One

Mary Keagul from AmadeusThere are 79,000 corporate travel agents and $145Bworth of sales generated by travel managers. AmadeusOne is a corporate tool that brings all the ingredients of corporate travel together into one tool. Amadeus is trying to tackle the concept of the super PNR by providing access to a variety of products through a variety of channels. The open connectivity layer, which is the base of the platform, allows the platform to connect to any content source.

The interface uses cryptic, or travel agent GDS shortcuts, to allow the agent to find fares very quickly using commands they already know. The tool is designed to make the agent’s ability to build custom trips for their business clients very quickly and within the corporate environment.

When asked if the platform would connect to the OpenAxis group schemas, Keagul answered that they will connect to whoever the corporation needs to connect to and to whoever makes commercial sense.

T4 Review: It’s hard to tell how innovative AmadeusOne is since it is very specific to a segment of the industry.  The fact that it still uses cryptic makes me think that it is less innovation and more evolution.  That’s not to discount the work or the research done to produce the tool, but rather that I think innovation needs to have an impact on user behaviour.
